Mango Smoothie

Tropical Paradise in a Glass

This mango smoothie is like a vacation in a glass! Made with sweet ripe mangos, creamy yogurt, and a touch of honey, it's the perfect way to start your day or cool down on a hot afternoon.

Choosing the Perfect Mango

A ripe mango should give slightly when pressed and have a sweet, fruity aroma at the stem end. The color isn't always a good indicator - some varieties stay green even when ripe. You can also use frozen mango chunks for convenience and extra thickness.

Instructions

  1. 1 If using fresh mango, peel and cube the mangos, removing the pit. You should have about 2 cups of mango chunks.
  2. 2 Add mango, Greek yogurt, orange juice, and milk to a blender.
  3. 3 Add honey and vanilla extract.
  4. 4 Add ice cubes last.
  5. 5 Blend on high speed for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
  6. 6 Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more honey if needed. Blend again briefly.
  7. 7 If smoothie is too thick, add more milk or orange juice a tablespoon at a time and blend.
  8. 8 Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
  9. 9 Garnish with fresh mint leaves or a mango slice if desired.

Chef's Note

For a vegan version, use coconut yogurt and almond milk. Frozen mango chunks work great and make the smoothie extra thick and cold - just reduce or omit the ice. You can add a handful of spinach for extra nutrition without affecting the taste. This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours - just shake well before drinking.
